Four Great Hunting Knives That Should Last For Generations

I've been doing a lot of research lately, and am impressed with the craftsmanship, innovation and value of Gerber knives. Gerber has been around for over 70 years and produces several well-regarded lines of tough knives that are still made in the USA.

The most popular lines of knives from Gerber are the: Gator, Bear Grylls Ultimate, Prodigy and the LMF II.
Let's take a bird's-eye view of each line.

Bear Grylls Ultimate
Gerber worked with world adventurer and star of the TV show, 'Man vs. Wild' to produce a hybrid knife that Bear could use in his show, and of course, Gerber could sell to fans. The result is the Bear Grylls Series of knives.

The line includes a very nice fixed and folding blade knife suitable for hunting. The fixed blade knife sports a quality straight to serrated blade, fire starter, sharpener, butt-end hammer and whistle.

Gator
The Gator line has been around for years and is loved by millions for its super grip and rugged, edge-holding blades. This is a rather large line of blades that includes several fixed and folding knives, a large and small machete and a few axes and saws for use around the campfire after a long day of hunting. Most notably, owners love this knife's ability to hold a razor-sharp blade.

LMF II
The LMF II is the toughest out of the four knives that we are looking at today. It was designed and tested for durability in the most adverse hunting conditions. If you want a really versatile knife that will last for many years the LMF II will not disappoint. This knife is also the most expensive knife of the four. However, at under it is well worth the price, especially for a knife that may last you for generations. Many owners report that the LMF II is the best knife that they ever owned.

Prodigy
The Gerber Prodigy is the very popular little brother of the LMF II. Design is similar to the LMF II, but in a smaller and lighter package. If you want a knife that is built to last for decades and is easier to store and carry while hunting than LMF II, you may want to consider the Gerber Prodigy.

In the end, you can't go wrong with any of these knives for your next hunting adventure. They are all built well, from quality components, by one of the best knife designers in the world.
